HIKING: The Appalachian Trail is just 15 minutes away. The Roanoke area boasts some of the best hiking in the state, including Virginia’s Triple Crown of McAfee Knob, Tinker Cliffs and Dragon’s Tooth! The Blue Ridge Parkway (20 minutes away) offers easy access to Sharp Top Mountain from the Peaks of Otter Lodge, and for a lighter hike, we are just 20 minutes from beautiful Roaring Run Falls! These are just a few hiking options nearby!

BIKING: Farm View is located 8 miles from the US Bicycle Route 76 Trail, which crosses through Daleville and Troutville. Located in the East Coast Mountain Biking Capital Corridor of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our road itself is a popular with cyclists, and Parke can often be seen making a 5-mile loop to/from our home!

PADDLING: We are a scenic 20-minute drive from Buchanan, VA where easy access to the beautiful James River entices many river enthusiasts! Bring your own equipment, or rent tubes, kayaks or a canoe from Twin River Outfitters for a day on the river floating, fishing or paddling!

Fincastle, VA

Did you know that the Town of Fincastle has over 40 homes, structures and sites constructed or developed in the late 1700's and 1800's? In fact the entire town is on the National Register of Historic Places! Fincastle is a virtual living museum of early American Architecture and history.
